My blue raspberry Malibu Jello shots are sweet, tropical, and incredibly easy to make. They deliver a vacation-like flavor that’s perfect for parties and gatherings.

I enjoy bright, tropical cocktails like the blue Hawaiian, blue margaritas, and pina coladas, but for crowd-pleasing party bites these Malibu Jello shots are hard to beat. The recipe yields a large batch that guests always request again. Serve them right in the cups for easy snacking, unmold them for a neater presentation, or add mini spoons for a cute touch.

- Jello: I used a blue raspberry gelatin mix available at many stores. If you don’t find blue raspberry, Berry Blue or another bright flavor will work. You can also experiment with strawberry, pineapple, or watermelon for different twists.
- Rum: Malibu coconut rum gives these shots a sweet, coconut-forward taste. Keep the rum chilled so the gelatin sets properly. You can substitute regular rum, pineapple rum, blue raspberry vodka, or another spirit—just avoid increasing the alcohol amount or the gelatin won’t firm up.
- Pineapple: Fresh pineapple contains an enzyme that can break down gelatin and prevent it from setting, so only use fresh pineapple as a garnish after the shots are completely set. Canned pineapple is safe to use since the heat from canning inactivates that enzyme.
Krystle’s Tips: Steal My Culinary School Secrets
- Easy removal: If you plan to unmold the shots, lightly spray the cups with nonstick cooking spray before filling. When ready, run a thin knife around the edge to loosen and pop them out cleanly.
- Test kitchen tips: For a tidy pour, use a measuring cup with a spout to fill small 2-ounce cups. Arrange the cups on a sheet pan so you can move them to the refrigerator quickly and without spills.
