We’ve been self-isolating for a couple of weeks now, and it looks like we have at least another month to go. In our busy, noisy, chaotic lives we often move so fast that we forget to slow down and truly experience the moment. This pause in routine is an opportunity to breathe, reflect, and notice the small things we usually overlook.
Before this pause, many of us procrastinated, planned and postponed, or took loved ones for granted with the mindset of “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Now that time has opened up, we can shift from postponement to presence. Use this moment to express gratitude, say the things you’ve been putting off, and appreciate those around you.
With more time on our hands, we can be introspective and creative, celebrating who we are and what makes our homes feel like home. This period allows families to learn and grow together, to try new routines, and to savor the quirky, comforting details that define our daily lives.
I’m starting this blog because I realized I have a lot to share—and I suspect you do too. I invite you to join me in using this time to learn about yourself, value your health, and recognize the small qualities that make you unique. Self-discovery doesn’t require grand gestures—often it’s the simple practices of reflection, cooking a new recipe, or reconnecting with a family member that create the deepest change.
Even in uncertain times, staying connected matters, even if we must remain physically apart. To keep that connection, I’ll share my journey of self-exploration along with my love for food and family. I hope these stories and recipes encourage you to explore your own passions and to find comfort in everyday rituals.
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter.
