Why this recipe works

  • Suitable for dairy-free and gluten-free diets.
  • Uses lean ground turkey for a lighter, protein-packed main.
  • Bright honey-sesame flavor from honey, sesame oil, and sesame seeds.
  • One-bowl mixing and straightforward baking make it easy to prepare.

Recipe ingredients

  • Ground turkey – any grind will work; higher fat (around 93% lean) keeps the loaf moist.
  • Eggs – bind the meat together.
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley – simple seasoning for depth of flavor.
  • Almond flour – replaces breadcrumbs or wheat flour for a grain-free binder.
  • Sesame seeds – sprinkled on top for texture and visual appeal.
  • Toasted sesame oil – adds a rich, nutty sesame note.
  • Coconut aminos – a savory, slightly sweet soy alternative that complements the honey.
  • Honey – use a runny honey for a glossy, sweet finish.

Additions/ Substitutions

  • Swap ground turkey for ground chicken if you prefer.
  • If you don’t have coconut aminos, use soy sauce or a splash of balsamic vinegar for a different savory profile.

Step by step instructions

This is a one-bowl recipe: combine the ingredients, press into a loaf pan, and bake. It’s uncomplicated and reliably delicious.

Expert tips

  • Ground turkey tips:
    • Choose 93% lean turkey for the best balance of flavor and moisture; very lean turkey (99%) tends to dry out.
  • Storage:
    • Keep leftover slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–5 days.
  • Serving suggestions:
    • Serve with coconut aminos fried rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted asparagus for a complete meal.
