On Christmas morning, our house is full of excitement as the kids race to open gifts and enjoy the day. I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen, but I do like to serve something special that still comes together quickly. That’s why these Bisquick gingerbread donut holes are perfect — festive, flavorful, and fast to bake.

Although they’re technically mini muffins, calling them donut holes fits their flavor and finish: tender, cake-like bites infused with molasses and warm holiday spices, then rolled in melted butter and cinnamon sugar so they taste delightfully like baked donut bites.

I make them the same way I make my popular pumpkin donut holes — a quick Bisquick shortcut that keeps the morning stress-free and lets me enjoy time with family.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • Use unsulphured molasses (for example, Grandma’s) for the best flavor; avoid blackstrap molasses.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days.
  • No mini muffin pan? Use a regular muffin pan to make about 12 larger muffins; increase bake time to approximately 17–19 minutes.
